instead CL highlights "link" in red if I don't put the slash at the end of the link tag, as if it were wrong.
Having false error indications on very complex pages is becoming a problem, especially if I want to trust what CL indicates, leading me to adding errors where there are none.
You can change this, IMO the w3c guidelines are to be followed.
