I've been a CodeLobster user for several years. I recently did a month's evaluation of three other IDEs - Komodo, NetBeans and Aptana - but have returned to CodeLobster, primarily because its PHP debugging works out of the box. However, there are two things about CodeLobster I'd dearly like to see changed, so I'm going to post them here separately to make it easier for the team to manage them.

The first is the Replace functionality. Like others who've posted in this forum, I'd love to have a straightforward multi-line replace without recourse to regular expressions. But my bigger concern is the replace context: the Where panel on the Replace form.

When I have text selected in the source document, I would expect this context to automatically move to Selected text. This is standard functionality in other editors, for which reason its absence here can have calamitous results. I don't believe this would be difficult to implement; and it could always be an option in Preferences if the team feels that's preferable.

It's possible there's already a setting to turn on this option. If so I'd love to know about it. Thanks for reading.
