Yes, we are open for all propositions about additional financing.

Maybe gauge interest here, open a listing on Kickstarter, and advertise that listing on DZone. There's a strong case for a good PHP IDE on Mac, as the other Mac editors are either Java-powered (slow, bloated, unresponsive) or not proper IDEs (Textmate, vim, etc).

It's not always easy to port software to another operating system. Homesite is a good example. It was written in Delphi, which meant it was only ever going to be a Windows programme. I don't know what the score is with Codelobster but if Mac or UNIX versions are somewhere the developers really don't want to go then there are probably very good reasons

Theoretically, there is Lazarus to allow porting. Personally I don't know anything much about Delphi, Lazarus might well stink, I really don't know. There was going to be a Mac version of Kylix but Microsoft and Sun gave the old Borland a whipping so they have been cornered on their existing user base I think.

I tried out WineSkin with CodeLobster on my Mac. It does load up and run, however I had big problems with fonts. I think it always chose the same font, regardless of config, which was non-monospaced, and it refused to honour bold and size settings except for the line number bar. Obviously monospace is a big thing so on Mac I am back on TextMate.

Personally I think CodeLobster should be Open Sourced in some way. This is completely up to them, I don't want to apply pressure. I can see very much why they would not want to, they've made a huge investment making it so awesome and it's doubtful they could make money from it anyway other than licenses. However, I think they could use a half-way license whereby source distribution is only allowed via codelobster.com and at moderated their own discretion.

If the source is out, possibly someone could try and port it to Lazarus and then give the patch back to the developers.

I'm a mac user but I did install vmware to do a windows installation. I have to say that are very few developer products that make me go to the windows side and codelobster is one of those tools. It is really unique and narrow to php and that makes CL very special. You guys have done a great job with this.
