I noticed that CodeLobster saves the file when you click on the Preview tab.

Is there anyway to stop the program from saving when you click Preview?

Hi.

We save files for correct previewing of included styles and images.
So we can do correct preview only if will create some temporary file in same folder in case of the absence of the saving.

Regards,
Codelobster Team.

Thanks for the reply!

The issue I have is that I made a change to a web page and then clicked Preview to see what the change would look like. I've used other programs where the change would apply to a temp file, which is what I expected.

However, when I clicked off preview, it looked like the original file was changed. The little * indicator to show that the file was different was turned off. I think I even closed the program and reopened it at one point, but I'm not positive about that.

So, while I expect the change to be saved in a temp file, it looks like the program is saving the changes to the original file, too, when you click preview. That I don't want to have happen, if I can turn that feature off.

Hi.

We undestand your idea.
Could you, please, inform us about any existing IDE with such behavior?

Thanks.
Codelobster Team.

Sure.

HTML-Kit, build 242 does this (that's the free version). So does HTML-Kit Tools (the registered version).

Aptana Studio also does this. Aptana has an option where you can have it save automatically when you click Preview or not. Even if you choose to not save the file before you preview, you still see the changes you made in the preview.
