I have installed on WinXP Professional SP3 from the download link today. Trying to run the installed program results in the cursor changing to wait status for about 5 seconds, then nothing, no splash screen, nothing except a process being created called ClPhpEd.exe, with about 9,000k memory, no cpu. The download version on the web page says 3.6.4, but the ClPhpEd.exe file in the installation directory reports version 4.1.0.1

Help, guidance, etc would be greatly appreciated to get the software running, thanks.

Hi, ashley.

1) Many thanks about reporting the problem with version number for .exe and .dll files.
We will set it correctly by the next 3.7. version.

2) It is very rare bug with window disapearing, we still can't fix it, but we try it after every report.
Please, press Ctrl+Tab and select Codelobster from Windows active applications.
This bug accurs only once and you will be able to works normally with Codelobster after that.

Regards,
Codelobster Team.

Sorry, I thought perhaps this was a problem with a beta version escaping into the downloads area and causing the problem. So...

Sorry, I didn't explain myself clearly enough, there's an entry in the list of processes in Windows, BUT, there's no entry in the Windows active applications that you can Alt-Tab to select.

I've also tried completely removing and re-installing CodeLobster; no different.
Killing the process that is started and re-launching has the same result.
Waiting for 5 minutes or more does not help either.

Is there any way I can debug the startup process for you?

Hi.

It is very strange. Nobody reports about such trouble.
We have only one idea:
please, run regedit and remove the following folder
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ClPhpEd

Regards,
Codelobster Team.

Removed registry entry as suggested, still the same result. Entry in registry not re-created.

Remove CodeLobster from system and re-installed. Entry in registry re-created, but still no splash screen and just a process with no cpu and about 1200kb of memory.

Hi.

Please, download and install the following log-version:
http://www.codelobster.com/download/Cod ... up_log.exe
and send us codelobster.log file from Codelobster's folder after runing.

Thanks.
Codelobster Team.

Thanks for that version. I have removed the original install, cleaned the entry from the registry that you described and then after a re-boot installed the "log" version.

It behaves in the same way as the production release. It does not create any log file - searched whole system to check- and when monitoring with "Iarsn TaskInfo" it does not show any file open while it is running. Have to terminate the executable with "kill task" from Task Manager.

Please let me know what other information I can supply to assist.
Regards
Ashley

Hi.

Do you install it into standard path?
Do you install standard or portable version?
Does other similar software works OK on you PC?

Looks like some of your antivirus or monitor doesn't allow Codelobster to register it's DLLs
or you don't have enough rights for it.

We will prepeare one more log version for you also.

Regards,
Codelobster Team.

Thanks for your help and patience.

Everything as standard clicking through the install options without change.

Not sure what you would consider as similar, but my machine is used for development. I have (an old copy) of Dreamweaver working fine. I use Delphi 6 for application development, everything else installs and works without a problem. My login is Administrator - should be enough rights for anything?

I will try re-install with Avast anti-virus disabled ( ) and report what happens.

Many thanks

OK, just tried log version again after "cleaning" previous install with Avast turned off. Exactly the same result.

OK.
Please, try new log-version by the same link:
http://www.codelobster.com/download/Cod ... up_log.exe

It should create codelobster.log in the
c:\Program Files\Codelobster Software\CodelobsterPHPEdition

Regards,
Codelobster Team.

Sorry, cleaned registry, disabled Avast and even this version does not create a log file and just hangs.

Have tried install and running on my wifes Windows 7 machine and of course everything works as expected. That machine is running Avast - same version as my machine.

Hi
Sorry, even that version has the same behaviour, no splash screen, no log file. Sent files with process and system information obtained with 3rd party software separately.

Hi.

1) You have to strange DLLs:
APSHook.dll and GOEC62~1.DLL
Could you, please, try to stop applications that use it.

2) If it doesn't help, please, send us the archive with all DLLs from your list.

Thanks.
Codelobster Team.

Hi, Removed the applications responsible for the 2 DLLs you mention without any improvement. Have zipped up the others that are interacting for you to inspect and sent them to you.
Thanks
Ashley
